EPIC Learning Community
Participants
- Are in the 1st-3rd years of their graduate program in any discipline
- Anticipate completing a mentored teaching experience in one of the next two semesters
- Anticipate being able to participate in person in the program for the next two semesters
- Are interested in learning about and developing their instructional skills
Requirements for Successful CompletionÂ
- Complete pre- and post-skills inventory online
- Attend a 90-minute introductory session at the beginning of the first semester of participation (if joining mid-semester, please contact Julia Johnson to learn about other ways to fulfill this requirement)
- Write and revise a Teaching Development Plan to identify areas of professional growth
- Attend and participate in five out of six 90-minute monthly module meetings over the course of two semesters.
Monthly Module Meeting Structure
- 60 minutes of facilitated discussion about the monthly topic and associated readings
- 30 minutes of brainstorming and discussion about current teaching challenges with colleagues and Teaching Center Staff
Additional Opportunities
- Practice and get feedback on your teaching through microteaching events
General EPIC Program Schedule
- Participants can begin in January or August
