Monday, October 5th, 2015
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Medical Campus, FLTC 213
What are some of the challenges that TAs face when they grade student work? How will you respond when a student comes to you with questions about a grade? This interactive TA-Training workshop will help you learn to grade effectively and efficiently as part of a team of faculty and TAs.
Through interactive discussion in the workshop, graduate students will develop strategies to
Communicate with faculty about grading criteria, policies, and procedures.
Ensure fairness and consistency during grading.
Help students understand grades and feedback as information that can help them identify where they are in their learning and what they can do to improve.
Respond effectively to common student concerns about grading.
Presenter: Bryn Lutes, Ph.D., Assistant Director, The Teaching Center
This workshop is offered two times during October (both listed as separate events on this calendar). Each TA should register for one session: October 5 or October 7. Priority registration for graduate students in departments that require attendance will open on Sep. 22, and regular registration will open on Sep. 29
Registration is required, and seating is limited.

These workshops are for Washington University graduate students.
