Participants in this workshop for faculty will discuss and apply a model for creating effective assignments. This model, developed by the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) project, can promote inclusive learning by increasing students’ confidence, fostering a sense of belonging, and helping students to build professional skills. Features of the transparency model
Research demonstrating the effectiveness of this model, especially for students from groups that have been historically underrepresented in a discipline
Revision of assignments using the transparency model
Participants should bring to the workshop an assignment that they would like to revise using this model.
