Online (December 17 - January 10) and Danforth Campus, January Hall Room 110 (January 10, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Design or redesign a course built on learner-centered design principles using strategies of backward course design;
Create and revise learning goals for their course;
Select instructional materials that contribute to student achievement of stated goals;
Draft an assessment plan, including a description of major assignments and exams;
Develop a draft of a syllabus and course policies that support learning goals;
Consider and incorporate universal course design
Format: Participants will complete three asynchronous, self-paced, online modules in Canvas which will be available beginning December 17. Participants are expected to complete these modules prior to the face-to-face meeting on the Danforth campus on January 10, 2019. Time required for completion will vary depending on prior course development, but participants should expect to spend 4-6 hours on each module, at a minimum.
