Advanced-Level STEM Pedagogies; Satisfies requirements for the Teaching Citation, PiP, and WU-CIRTL
So, you’ve heard the terms scholarly teaching, SoTL, TAR, and DBER but what do they mean? How are they related? This workshop will define various modes of pedagogical research and discuss similarities and differences between them. Participants will also learn about qualitative and quantitative approaches to pedagogical research as well as about strategies to become more involved in pedagogical scholarship in their classroom.
This workshop will be followed by a Q & A with current graduate students who have completed a SoTL research project or proposal with support from The Teaching Center during their time at Washington University.
This workshop is a Core STEM Pedagogies Workshop.
Facilitator: Dr. Julia Johnson, Assistant Director of Academic Services, The Teaching Center
