What can TAs do to facilitate discussions that promote student learning and engagement? This interactive workshop is designed to help new graduate-student TAs learn how to effectively lead discussions. Topics include preparing for and structuring each discussion, fostering full student participation, and composing and asking questions that generate discussion and deepen learning.
Presenter: Denise Leonard, Ph.D., Assistant Director, The Teaching Center
This workshop is offered two times (both listed as separate events on this calendar). Each TA should register for one session: April 3 or April 5. Priority registration will open on March 20, and regular registration will open on March 27.
Registration is required, and seating is limited.
Participation in this workshop series satisfies departmental TA-Training requirements and the introductory-level training requirement for the Teaching Citation program. These workshops are for Washington University graduate students.
Registration for this workshop is closed but there are spaces available for the April 3rd Danforth workshop. Please email Denise Leonard if you have any questions.
