Teaching a class of greater than 50 students poses unique challenges. Participating in this workshop for un-tenured, tenure-track professors will help you anticipate and prepare for these challenges.
Topics include the following:
Charting the semester during the course-planning process;
Maintaining class participation and knowledge about your students;
Keeping the small-class atmosphere;
Designing and sticking with course policies on such issues as attendance, late work, re-grades or revisions, and academic integrity; and
Designing exams and test-taking procedures that will discourage academic-integrity violations.
Presenter: Gina Frey, PhD (Executive Director, The Teaching Center; Florence E. Moog Professor of STEM Education, Chemistry; and Co-Director, CIRCLE)
