When we plan our courses, we often focus on planning in-class activities and course content, then wait to design assessments until after the course is underway. This workshop for un-tenured, tenure-track faculty will focus on strategies for designing an assessment plan aligned with course objectives during the course-planning process.
Designing an assessment plan that can help students achieve the course’s learning objectives,
Developing a clear timeline for returning graded assessments and providing feedback,
Creating policies that support your assessment plan, for example, student requests for extensions, re-scheduling of exams, and re-grades.
