Teaching a class of greater than 50 students poses unique challenges. Participating in this workshop for junior faculty (untenured, tenure-track faculty) will help you anticipate and prepare for these challenges.
Topics include the following:
Charting the semester during the course-planning process
Connecting with your students and increasing class participation
Keeping the small-class atmosphere
Designing and maintaining course policies on such issues as attendance, late work, re-grades or revisions, and academic integrity
Designing exams and test-taking procedures that will discourage academic-integrity violations
Presenter: Gina Frey, PhD (Florence E. Moog Professor of STEM Education, Chemistry; Executive Director of The Teaching Center; co-Director, CIRCLE)
Registration is required and limited to 15. To request registration, please send an email to email@example.com.
