Addressing Diversity and Inclusion in Job Market Materials
Tuesday, October 6th, 2020
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Increasingly candidates for academic positions are asked to prepare materials related to demonstrating their commitment to inclusion and diversity in the classroom. This Professional Development series workshop will explore different ways to reflect on, document, and communicate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in job market materials. Participants will examine the purpose of a diversity statement, identify generic expectations and conventions, and discuss strategies for demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion in diversity statements and other frequently-requested job market materials.
This workshop will be offered online via Zoom. Registrants will be sent a Zoom link in future communications.
Facilitator: Dr. Meg Gregory, Assistant Director, Educational Development, The Center for Teaching and Learning
This series is only open to advanced graduate students (in their third year or beyond) and postdocs. Should you need to participate in this program sooner, please contact Dr. Megan Gregory, Assistant Director, The Center for Teaching and Learning.
