We recommend that you use the default AA frequency. However, if you need to use a different frequency, because an instructor in an adjacent classroom is also using iClickers at the same time, you will need to change it in the iClicker software, on the instructor remote, and teach your students how to change the frequency on their iClicker remotes as well.
Question: How do I change the frequency of the iClickers?
Open the iClicker home menu and highlight the course in which you want to change the frequency by highlighting it and selecting Open Gradebook.
At the upper left, click on Settings (cog icon).
Under the General tab, look for the section labeled Frequency Code. The frequency can be changed by selecting two subfrequencies.Note: iClicker uses AA as default, it is recommended to keep the default setting to avoid confusion for students, who have clickers attuned to AA.
Student and instructor clickers are preset to AA, if you are using a frequency different from AA you will need to ask students to change the frequency of their iClickers at the start of every class. The instructions to change the iClicker remote (both student and instructor) frequency are as follows:
Start a session.
Make sure that the iClicker remote is powered off.
Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds until the power light flashes.
Input the new frequency.
Note: If students have multiple classes that use iClicker they may have to change the clickers back and forth between frequencies. This issue could cause a delay during the first clicker question asked per session as students try to change frequencies.
