Addressing Implicit Bias in STEM WebSeries Watch Parties Co-Hosted with CDI

The Teaching Center and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion are co-hosting watch parties for an online webseries from the CIRTL network entitled Addressing Implicit Bias in STEM. The watch parties will be held in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion lounge (DUC 330) from 10:30-11:30 on October 1, October 8, October 22 and October 29. These events are open to all members of the Washington University community and coffee and bagels will be provided. Please register to attend any and all dates that you are interested in. If you are unable to join us in person, you are welcome to register for the online events for free and attend on your own.

Throughout this series, participants will explore the impact of implicit bias in various contexts rooted in current literature, share their experiences, and identify evidence-based strategies and resources to mitigate implicit bias. Sessions will also include discussion of key concepts, such as intersectionality, microaggressions, and privilege. Participants will use handouts and resources during the session to identify practical applications of the concepts discussed.
