Blackboard is reporting that, due to a high paper load, instructors using SafeAssign are currently experiencing significant delays when requesting reports. In addition, as of 5/8/2017, instructors are receiving error messages when they attempt to “Direct Submit” papers to SafeAssign. For assistance with this issue, please contact The Teaching Center at email@example.com or (314) 935-6810.
Recommended Browsers: Safari and Firefox
Due to intermittent issues we have observed when using Chrome (e.g. “chevron” not opening to provide edit options), we are currently recommending the use of Safari or Firefox.
The Teaching Center is working with WashU-IT and Blackboard to determine the cause of problems that have been reported with online exams in Blackboard that occur over an extended time. These problems include students getting “kicked off” Blackboard and then needing to email the instructor to ask the instructor to log on to Blackboard to permit the student to restart, complete, then resubmit the exam. We will post more information as soon as it is available.
We recommend that instructors who are considering administering Blackboard tests contact The Teaching Center for assistance and recommendations: (314) 935-6810. In addition, we do not recommend the use of the “Force Completion” option at this time.
Student View: My Grades
April 5, 2017: Students have reported that they cannot see all of their grades for Spring 2017 courses using My Grades on their Home Page. The vendor has confirmed this is a bug, and they are working on a solution. In the meantime, students can access grades by navigating to their individual course page and clicking My Grades.
