The new blackboard log-in page may be found at blackboard.wustl.edu. Please update any bookmarks in your computer’s browsers. The old URL will direct you to the new log-in page.
You may also note some minor changes in look and functionality. The new theme was designed for improved user accessibility and to increase responsiveness across mobile devices such as smart phone and tablets.
There is now drag-and-drop functionality for uploading content. You can drag and drop a file to the space marked with dotted lines when adding a file or attachment.
Some of the tool icons have changed for easier viewing.
In the gradebook, the rows and columns have been made larger for better accessibility. This change may result in a decrease in the number of rows and columns “viewable” on your screen. Note that you can use the “side-to-side” scrollbar at the bottom to move across columns.
The icons in the Course Menu (top left) are now smaller and gray.
The action buttons across the top of a page (such as “Build Content” and “Assessments”), no longer have tab outlines. Scroll over the button text to see the drop-down menu or click on the text for clickable links.
As of January 11, 2017 here are some known issues (see Blackboard Updates for the most recent information):
There is a bug in the creating Course Links feature that prevents saving text for these items. For example, when creating a tool link for adding the Discussion Board, you can add the link to your Discussion Board but any text that you add (such as instructions for an assignment) will not be saved. Blackboard is actively working to resolve this bug. As an alternative, you can create an Item and add a URL and text to the item.
There is a problem with Mediasite videos. When a user clicks on a video, they may be redirected to the home page. The vendors are actively working on a solution for this issue.
