Open Position in The Teaching Center

The Teaching Center is hiring an Assistant Director of Academic Services. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with colleagues from across the disciplines to develop and implement effective teaching practices and to provide interactive programs on evidence-based teaching. The primary focus of the position is in two areas: 1) providing expert pedagogical support to faculty on teaching with technology, including the University’s Learning Management System (LMS), and 2) working closely with colleagues at The Teaching Center to develop, deliver, assess, and improve a variety of graduate-student and postdoc programs—including workshops, consultations, symposia, and institutes—on evidence-based teaching and professional development. This position directly supports Washington University’s mission of excellence in teaching and learning.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in any discipline, completed by time of appointment; knowledge of best practices in using an LMS to enhance teaching and learning at the higher-ed level; and at least 3 years of experience in teaching at a college or university.
