Blackboard Special-Topic Training Session for Faculty and Staff: Using the Discussion Boards

In this Blackboard training workshop for faculty and staff, presented by The Teaching Center and Olin Library, participants will learn to use the Discussion Boards in Blackboard to facilitate discussion of course material, enhance peer review, or allow students to ask and answer questions about the course. Completion of the Introduction to Blackboard training session or previous experience with Blackboard is necessary for registration in this session.

Using the Discussion Boards will cover the following topics:

  • Potential uses for the Discussion Boards
  • Methods for creating and organizing Discussion Board forums and threads
  • Monitoring Discussion Board Activity

These workshops are reserved for Danforth campus faculty and staff. Separate training sessions are being held for University College faculty. Information about training for University College faculty may be found here. These sessions are not open to graduate students.
