This workshop is designed to help new TAs learn how to effectively lead problem-solving or recitation sub-sections that are connected to a larger lecture course. Topics will include planning the structure of each class session, improving presentation style, fostering active student engagement, and responding appropriately to student questions and contributions.

Graduate students who are enrolled in departments that require their attendance at The Teaching Center's Basic TA-Training workshops will have priority to enroll in these workshops.
Priority regisration for this workshop will open on February 21, 2012 for students who are enrolled in departments that require their attendance at the Teaching Center's Basic TA-Training workshops. Priority registration will end on February 28, 2012, at which time registration will open to all graduate students.
