Workshops for Faculty

Workshops for Washington University faculty are scheduled every month from August through November and January through April. Click below for information about current workshops:

For Junior Faculty (Assistant Professors)

Graduate students and postdoctoral appointees may not register for faculty or junior-faculty workshops.

In addition to the workshops described below, The Teaching Center develops faculty workshops co-sponsored by departments. For information, please contact Gina Frey, Executive Director.

The Teaching Center currently offers annual faculty workshops on The Grading Process; Teaching with Writing; and Observing and Critiquing Graduate Student TAs. In addition, there are three series of monthly faculty workshops. For each series, sample topics are listed below.

STEM Pedagogy Workshops, for faculty in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

  • Incorporating Active Learning into your Lecture
  • Designing Visuals to Enhance Learning and Interaction
  • Fostering Collaborative Learning with In-Class Group Work
  • Improving Gender Diversity in STEM: Developing Varied Teaching Strategies that Can Improve Learning for all Students
