This workshop will offer an opportunity to learn about research on “stereotype threat,” a phenomenon that can affect student performance in the classroom, as well as to discuss teaching strategies that can reduce the effects of stereotype threat and support learning by all students. Participants will discuss inclusive strategies that can be integrated into courses across the disciplines in larger as well as smaller classes. We will also discuss how to adapt these strategies for a wide range of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and group work.
