Online (October 1 - November 16) and Danforth Campus, January 110 (October 25, 6:00 - 8:00 pm; November 8, 6:00-8:00 pm)
Design or redesign a course built on learner-centered design principles using strategies of backward course design;
Create and revise learning objectives for their course;
Select instructional materials that contribute to student achievement of stated objectives;
Draft an assessment plan, including a description of major assignments and exams;
Develop a draft of a syllabus and discuss course policies that support learning goals;
Consider aspects of universal course design throughout the course design process.
Audience and Registration:
This section of the CDI is intended for University College instructors; other instructors will be accepted as space allows. Registration will be capped at 15 participants. Instructors who teach their newly designed course in University College may qualify for $500 in additional compensation at the time they teach. Dinner will be provided on the evenings of face-to-face sessions.
