Students who actively participate in class are more likely to learn the course material. But how do you get all of your students to participate? In this workshop, participants will learn strategies that they can use to foster student participation in a variety of teaching formats, from lectures and discussions to laboratory and review sessions.

In this workshop, we will discuss grading issues that commonly arise for Teaching Assistants as well as broader issues that you will need to consider when teaching your own courses. Topics include different approaches to setting up a grading system, strategies for managing the grading process, and suggestions for responding to students’ concerns about grades.
