The Teaching Center and the College of Arts and Sciences offer a Teaching with Writing workshop every semester for faculty who use writing in their courses. The workshop is a series of two sessions, which are intended to assist faculty in designing and evaluating writing assignments. Barbara Baumgartner, associate director of the Women and Gender Studies Program, co-teaches this workshop with Gina Frey.

Participants will receive Joseph Williams's Style: Ten Lessons in Clarity and Grace (Longman); Andrea Lunsford's The St. Martin's Handbook (Bedford-St. Martin's); Harvey Gordon's Writing with Sources: A guide for Students (Hackett); John C. Bean's Engaging Ideas (Jossey-Bass); and Barbara E. Walvoord and Virginia J. Anderson's Effective Grading (Jossey-Bass).
Enrollment is limited to 12; each participant should attend both sessions.
