What does recent research in cognitive science suggest about changes you might make to improve student learning in your course? This workshop will introduce participants to research on learning and memory and to specific suggestions for applying this research in the classroom.
Participants will discuss the following:
– Strategies for integrating active learning that will can increase long-term retention of material
– Benefits of teaching methods that combine visual and verbal information
– Approaches to adjusting teaching to maximize memory and attention
