Advanced-Level STEM Pedagogies; Satisfies requirements for the Teaching Citation, PiP, and WU-CIRTL
Classroom assessment techniques (CATs) are teaching tools designed to monitor student learning, and provide ongoing feedback that can be used both by instructors to improve their teaching, and by students to improve their learning. The workshop will define, compare, and contrast summative and formative assessment. The workshop will also discuss a number of effective CATs that participants could use in their own teaching and how to respond to data gathered student responses. Participants will also design a CAT that could be used in their own classroom and consider ways to use the student feedback in their instruction.
This workshop is an Elective STEM Pedagogies Workshop.
