Before joining The Teaching Center staff in May 2008, Tra’Mel was the instructional media and computer support technician for the Washington University physical therapy program. His previous positions have included working as an educational technology instructor at Bits and Bytes Training Center and an audio lab technician at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

As the computer and classroom support specialist at The Teaching Center, Tra’Mel works with Mike Floyd and Michael Kennedy to provide multimedia training and on-call technical support for instructors teaching in University-managed classrooms. Tra’Mel monitors the classroom computers regularly to diagnose and solve problems and to determine when new hardware and software are needed. He also serves as the network manager for the classroom computers.

A member of the Classroom Monitoring Committee, Tra’Mel researches new technologies and advises the Committee on the types of computer equipment that should be installed during classroom construction and renovation.

Tra’Mel earned his associate’s degree at Southwestern Illinois College in 2002 and his B.A. at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2006; both degrees are in applied science.
