Michael Kennedy joined the staff of The Teaching Center in January 2008, after earning his bachelor's degree in management and information systems at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) in 2007. While at UMSL, Michael worked on the student newspaper as the Web editor and the business manager.
As The Teaching Center's programming and classroom support specialist, Michael works with Mike Floyd and Tra’Mel Harrell to provide multimedia training and on-call technical support for instructors teaching in University-managed classrooms. He lends his programming expertise to maintaining the Crestron multimedia-control systems and developing Web sites for ITeach and Teaching Center scholarship.
As a member of the Classroom Monitoring Committee, Michael advises the committee on new multimedia-control-system software and hardware.
Michael is currently providing technical expertise to the Hewlett-Packard Initiative 2007, a collaborative project that is expanding the use of tablet PCs into Washington University courses in the humanities and social sciences. This project, undertaken by The Teaching Center with the departments of education and history, as well as the University’s GIS facility, is being supported by a Hewlett-Packard Teaching Leadership Grant.
