The Teaching Center collaborates with faculty to design teaching approaches that have the potential to improve student learning, and to develop methods for evaluating and refining teaching. By participating in Teaching Center workshops, symposia, programs, and scholarship on teaching and learning, faculty can develop new and innovative teaching methods, learn how to incorporate active and collaborative learning in their courses, reflect on and develop their teaching, and contribute to the scholarly teaching community at Washington University.
Throughout the school year, the Teaching Center offers workshops facilitated by TTC senior staff.
Teaching Center staff are avaialble for individual consultations with faculty members to discuss and develop their teaching--whether by refining current approaches, incorporating new strategies and methods, or developing evaluative studies to assess the effectiveness of specific methods.
The formal study of pedagogy is an integral part of the Teaching Center's mission to foster excellence in teaching and learning.
